Frequently Asked Questions
If you have queries about the Whitley Bay Gift Vouchers, the
chances are that someone else might have already asked
the same question - check them out here.
Where can I buy vouchers from?
At present vouchers are available to purchase from Hamiedog Menswear and Just Canny - both on Park View. You will need to check directly with each store for their opening hours as they're not open every single day.
PLEASE NOTE that Just Canny are not able to sell vouchers during the month of December, we're sorry about this.
We are currently liaising with other venues to establish additional locations that vouchers may be purchased from in the future.
Why can't vouchers be bought and used online?
Unfortunately as our vouchers are classed as cash they attract a complex method of taking payment for them online which is too expensive to implement.
Can I pay for vouchers over the phone?
Yes, please phone Hamiedog Menswear on 0191 2533549. This is useful if you have a large volume of vouchers to buy. If the shop is closed please leave a message and they will get back to you the next working day. You will need a valid credit or debit card and will have to supply some of your personal details to validate the transaction. When payment is completed the vouchers will be available for collection.
Can vouchers be sent out in the post?
We do not offer this service due to the increased cost of insuring the vouchers should anything go wrong during transit.
Can vouchers be delivered locally?
Yes when paying over the phone to Hamiedog Menswear, if you are within a 5 mile radius we are able to provide delivery at no additional cost.
I have lost my vouchers, can they be replaced?
Sadly not. Vouchers are classed as cash and if you lost a ten pound note you wouldn't be able to replace it, so please be very careful because our vouchers can also not be replaced if they are lost.
I run a charity / community group and would like some vouchers to be donated for an event. Is this possible?
Please email info@whitleybaychamber.co.uk to enquire. Donations are not guaranteed as we are only able to make a small number available every year for charitable donations. The initiative is a non-profit making scheme.
Why do some businesses not accept vouchers?
This can be for many reasons but for businesses to be able to participate they must be a member of Whitley Bay Chamber of Trade. It is their own decision should they wish to take part in the voucher scheme.
Do I receive change from a voucher if it is not fully spent?
All participating businesses will receive the full face value of the voucher back to them. We suggest that you try and spend as much of the voucher as possible because some businesses may choose to provide any change as a credit note or another voucher for a smaller value.
My voucher has expired, what can I do?
We removed expiry dates in 2023 so if you still have unspent vouchers you don't need to hurry to spend them. All participating businesses are aware of this so they should accept vouchers even if they have an expired date on them.
I run a business in Whitley Bay and would like to accept vouchers. How do I do this?
Please refer to our Information for Businesses page here.
Who manages Whitley Bay Gift Vouchers?
